Carmel is a Clinical Psychologist and is a full member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. Before taking up full time duties at CPC, she worked with war veterans and their families with the Veterans Counselling Service. She also did some part time consulting with an Employee Assistance Program [EAP] and some Lecturing within the Clinical Masters Course at The Australian National University.
Carmel’s clinical experience and interest gives her enthusiasm to take on clients with various presenting issues, including trauma, workplace harassment, depression, anxiety, stress management, sleep disorders, pain management and general problems of life. As well as being confident in the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy [CBT], Schema Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy [IPT], she has an interest in the use of Mindfulness and Hypnosis in the treatment of some disorders and is a keen devotee of the use of biofeedback equipment in treating many of the psychological conditions that bring clients to this clinic.
Carmel is ably assisted in her clinical work by the resident furry prince, Rupert.
